Then all the captainsH8269 of the forcesH2428, and JohananH3110 the sonH1121 of KareahH7143, and JezaniahH3153 the sonH1121 of HoshaiahH1955, and all the peopleH5971 from the leastH6996 even unto the greatestH1419, came nearH5066,2And saidH559 unto JeremiahH3414 the prophetH5030, Let, we beseech thee, our supplicationH8467 be acceptedH5307 beforeH6440 thee, and prayH6419 for us unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, even for all this remnantH7611; (for we are leftH7604 but a fewH4592 of manyH7235, as thine eyesH5869 do beholdH7200 us:)3That the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 may shewH5046 us the wayH1870 wherein we may walkH3212, and the thingH1697 that we may doH6213.4Then JeremiahH3414 the prophetH5030 saidH559 unto them, I have heardH8085 you; behold, I will prayH6419 unto the LORDH3068 your GodH430 according to your wordsH1697; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thingH1697 the LORDH3068 shall answerH6030 you, I will declareH5046 it unto you; I will keepH4513 nothingH1697 backH4513 from you.5Then they saidH559 to JeremiahH3414, The LORDH3068 be a trueH571 and faithfulH539 witnessH5707 between us, if we doH6213 not even according to all thingsH1697 for the which the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 shall sendH7971 thee to us.6Whether it be goodH2896, or whether it be evilH7451, we will obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 our GodH430, to whom weH580 sendH7971 thee; that it may be wellH3190 with us, when we obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 our GodH430.

7And it came to pass afterH7093 tenH6235 daysH3117, that the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto JeremiahH3414.8Then calledH7121 he JohananH3110 the sonH1121 of KareahH7143, and all the captainsH8269 of the forcesH2428 which were with him, and all the peopleH5971 from the leastH6996 even to the greatestH1419,9And saidH559 unto them, Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, unto whom ye sentH7971 me to presentH5307 your supplicationH8467 beforeH6440 him;10If ye will stillH7725 abideH3427 in this landH776, then will I buildH1129 you, and not pull you downH2040, and I will plantH5193 you, and not pluck you upH5428: for I repentH5162 me of the evilH7451 that I have doneH6213 unto you.11Be not afraidH3372 ofH6440 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, of whomH6440 ye are afraidH3373; be not afraidH3372 of him, saithH5002 the LORDH3068: for I am with you to saveH3467 you, and to deliverH5337 you from his handH3027.12And I will shewH5414 merciesH7356 unto you, that he may have mercyH7355 upon you, and cause you to returnH7725 to your own landH127.

13But if ye sayH559, We will not dwellH3427 in this landH776, neither obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 your GodH430,14SayingH559, No; but we will goH935 into the landH776 of EgyptH4714, where we shall seeH7200 no warH4421, nor hearH8085 the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782, nor have hungerH7456 of breadH3899; and there will we dwellH3427:15And now therefore hearH8085 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, ye remnantH7611 of JudahH3063; Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478; If ye whollyH7760 setH7760 your facesH6440 to enterH935 into EgyptH4714, and goH935 to sojournH1481 there;16Then it shall come to pass, that the swordH2719, which ye fearedH3373, shall overtakeH5381 you there in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and the famineH7458, whereof ye were afraidH1672, shall follow closeH1692 afterH310 you there in EgyptH4714; and there ye shall dieH4191.17So shall it be with all the menH582 that setH7760 their facesH6440 to goH935 into EgyptH4714 to sojournH1481 there; they shall dieH4191 by the swordH2719, by the famineH7458, and by the pestilenceH1698: and none of them shall remainH8300 or escapeH6412 fromH6440 the evilH7451 that I will bringH935 upon them.18For thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478; As mine angerH639 and my furyH2534 hath been poured forthH5413 upon the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389; so shall my furyH2534 be poured forthH5413 upon you, when ye shall enterH935 into EgyptH4714: and ye shall be an execrationH423, and an astonishmentH8047, and a curseH7045, and a reproachH2781; and ye shall seeH7200 this placeH4725 no more.

19The LORDH3068 hath saidH1696 concerning you, O ye remnantH7611 of JudahH3063; GoH935 ye not into EgyptH4714: knowH3045 certainlyH3045 that I have admonishedH5749 you this dayH3117.20For ye dissembledH8582 in your heartsH5315, when ye sentH7971 me unto the LORDH3068 your GodH430, sayingH559, PrayH6419 for us unto the LORDH3068 our GodH430; and according unto all that the LORDH3068 our GodH430 shall sayH559, so declareH5046 unto us, and we will doH6213 it.21And now I have this dayH3117 declaredH5046 it to you; but ye have not obeyedH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 your GodH430, nor any thing for the which he hath sentH7971 me unto you.22Now therefore knowH3045 certainlyH3045 that ye shall dieH4191 by the swordH2719, by the famineH7458, and by the pestilenceH1698, in the placeH4725 whither ye desireH2654 to goH935 and to sojournH1481.
