And when DavidH1732 was a littleH4592 pastH5674 the topH7218 of the hill, behold, ZibaH6717 the servantH5288 of MephiboshethH4648 metH7125 him, with a coupleH6776 of assesH2543 saddledH2280, and upon them two hundredH3967 loaves of breadH3899, and an hundredH3967 bunches of raisinsH6778, and an hundredH3967 of summer fruitsH7019, and a bottleH5035 of wineH3196.2And the kingH4428 saidH559 unto ZibaH6717, What meanest thou by these? And ZibaH6717 saidH559, The assesH2543 be for the king'sH4428 householdH1004 to ride onH7392; and the breadH3899 and summer fruitH7019 for the young menH5288 to eatH398; and the wineH3196, that such as be faintH3287 in the wildernessH4057 may drinkH8354.3And the kingH4428 saidH559, And where is thy master'sH113 sonH1121? And ZibaH6717 saidH559 unto the kingH4428, Behold, he abidethH3427 at JerusalemH3389: for he saidH559, To dayH3117 shall the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 restoreH7725 me the kingdomH4468 of my fatherH1.4Then saidH559 the kingH4428 to ZibaH6717, Behold, thine are all that pertained unto MephiboshethH4648. And ZibaH6717 saidH559, I humblyH7812 beseech thee that I may findH4672 graceH2580 in thy sightH5869, my lordH113, O kingH4428.

5And when kingH4428 DavidH1732 cameH935 to BahurimH980, behold, thence came outH3318 a manH376 of the familyH4940 of the houseH1004 of SaulH7586, whose nameH8034 was ShimeiH8096, the sonH1121 of GeraH1617: he came forthH3318, and cursedH7043 still as he cameH3318.6And he castH5619 stonesH68 at DavidH1732, and at all the servantsH5650 of kingH4428 DavidH1732: and all the peopleH5971 and all the mighty menH1368 were on his right handH3225 and on his leftH8040.7And thus saidH559 ShimeiH8096 when he cursedH7043, Come outH3318, come outH3318, thou bloodyH1818 manH376, and thou manH376 of BelialH1100:8The LORDH3068 hath returnedH7725 upon thee all the bloodH1818 of the houseH1004 of SaulH7586, in whose stead thou hast reignedH4427; and the LORDH3068 hath deliveredH5414 the kingdomH4410 into the handH3027 of AbsalomH53 thy sonH1121: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischiefH7451, because thou art a bloodyH1818 manH376.

9Then saidH559 AbishaiH52 the sonH1121 of ZeruiahH6870 unto the kingH4428, Why should this deadH4191 dogH3611 curseH7043 my lordH113 the kingH4428? let me go overH5674, I pray thee, and take offH5493 his headH7218.10And the kingH4428 saidH559, What have I to do with you, ye sonsH1121 of ZeruiahH6870? so let him curseH7043, because the LORDH3068 hath saidH559 unto him, CurseH7043 DavidH1732. Who shall then sayH559, Wherefore hast thou done soH6213?11And DavidH1732 saidH559 to AbishaiH52, and to all his servantsH5650, Behold, my sonH1121, which came forthH3318 of my bowelsH4578, seekethH1245 my lifeH5315: how much more now may this BenjamiteH1145 do it? let him aloneH3240, and let him curseH7043; for the LORDH3068 hath biddenH559 him.12It may be that the LORDH3068 will lookH7200 on mine afflictionH5869 H6040, and that the LORDH3068 will requiteH7725 me goodH2896 for his cursingH7045 this dayH3117.13And as DavidH1732 and his menH582 wentH3212 by the wayH1870, ShimeiH8096 went alongH1980 on the hill'sH2022 sideH6763 over againstH5980 him, and cursedH7043 as he wentH1980, and threwH5619 stonesH68 atH5980 him, and castH6080 dustH6083.14And the kingH4428, and all the peopleH5971 that were with him, cameH935 wearyH5889, and refreshedH5314 themselves there.

15And AbsalomH53, and all the peopleH5971 the menH376 of IsraelH3478, cameH935 to JerusalemH3389, and AhithophelH302 with him.16And it came to pass, when HushaiH2365 the ArchiteH757, David'sH1732 friendH7463, was comeH935 unto AbsalomH53, that HushaiH2365 saidH559 unto AbsalomH53, God saveH2421 the kingH4428, God saveH2421 the kingH4428.17And AbsalomH53 saidH559 to HushaiH2365, Is this thy kindnessH2617 to thy friendH7453? why wentestH1980 thou not with thy friendH7453?18And HushaiH2365 saidH559 unto AbsalomH53, Nay; but whom the LORDH3068, and this peopleH5971, and all the menH376 of IsraelH3478, chooseH977, his will I be, and with him will I abideH3427.19And againH8145, whom should I serveH5647? should I not serve in the presenceH6440 of his sonH1121? as I have servedH5647 in thy father'sH1 presenceH6440, so will I be in thy presenceH6440.

20Then saidH559 AbsalomH53 to AhithophelH302, GiveH3051 counselH6098 among you what we shall doH6213.21And AhithophelH302 saidH559 unto AbsalomH53, Go inH935 unto thy father'sH1 concubinesH6370, which he hath leftH3240 to keepH8104 the houseH1004; and all IsraelH3478 shall hearH8085 that thou art abhorredH887 of thy fatherH1: then shall the handsH3027 of all that are with thee be strongH2388.22So they spreadH5186 AbsalomH53 a tentH168 upon the top of the houseH1406; and AbsalomH53 went inH935 unto his father'sH1 concubinesH6370 in the sightH5869 of all IsraelH3478.23And the counselH6098 of AhithophelH302, which he counselledH3289 in those daysH3117, was as if a manH376 had enquiredH7592 at the oracleH1697 of GodH430: so was all the counselH6098 of AhithophelH302 both with DavidH1732 and with AbsalomH53.
