3And it came to pass in the eighteenthH8083 H6240 yearH8141 of kingH4428 JosiahH2977, that the kingH4428 sentH7971 ShaphanH8227 the sonH1121 of AzaliahH683, the sonH1121 of MeshullamH4918, the scribeH5608, to the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, sayingH559,4Go upH5927 to HilkiahH2518 the highH1419 priestH3548, that he may sumH8552 the silverH3701 which is broughtH935 into the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, which the keepersH8104 of the doorH5592 have gatheredH622 of the peopleH5971:5And let them deliverH5414 it into the handH3027 of the doersH6213 of the workH4399, that have the oversightH6485 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068: and let them giveH5414 it to the doersH6213 of the workH4399 which is in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, to repairH2388 the breachesH919 of the houseH1004,6Unto carpentersH2796, and buildersH1129, and masonsH1443, and to buyH7069 timberH6086 and hewnH4274 stoneH68 to repairH2388 the houseH1004.7Howbeit there was no reckoning madeH2803 with them of the moneyH3701 that was deliveredH5414 into their handH3027, because they dealtH6213 faithfullyH530.

8And HilkiahH2518 the highH1419 priestH3548 saidH559 unto ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, I have foundH4672 the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. And HilkiahH2518 gaveH5414 the bookH5612 to ShaphanH8227, and he readH7121 it.9And ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608 cameH935 to the kingH4428, and broughtH7725 the kingH4428 wordH1697 againH7725, and saidH559, Thy servantsH5650 have gatheredH5413 the moneyH3701 that was foundH4672 in the houseH1004, and have deliveredH5414 it into the handH3027 of them that doH6213 the workH4399, that have the oversightH6485 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068.10And ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608 shewedH5046 the kingH4428, sayingH559, HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548 hath deliveredH5414 me a bookH5612. 12And the kingH4428 commandedH6680 HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548, and AhikamH296 the sonH1121 of ShaphanH8227, and AchborH5907 the sonH1121 of MichaiahH4320, and ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, and AsahiahH6222 a servantH5650 of the king'sH4428, sayingH559,13GoH3212 ye, enquireH1875 of the LORDH3068 for me, and for the peopleH5971, and for all JudahH3063, concerning the wordsH1697 of this bookH5612 that is foundH4672: for greatH1419 is the wrathH2534 of the LORDH3068 that is kindledH3341 against us, because our fathersH1 have not hearkenedH8085 unto the wordsH1697 of this bookH5612, to doH6213 according unto all that which is writtenH3789 concerning us.14So HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548, and AhikamH296, and AchborH5907, and ShaphanH8227, and AsahiahH6222, wentH3212 unto HuldahH2468 the prophetessH5031, the wifeH802 of ShallumH7967 the sonH1121 of TikvahH8616, the sonH1121 of HarhasH2745, keeperH8104 of the wardrobeH899; (now she dweltH3427 in JerusalemH3389 in the collegeH4932;) and they communedH1696 with her.

15And she saidH559 unto them, Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478, TellH559 the manH376 that sentH7971 you to me,16Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068, Behold, I will bringH935 evilH7451 upon this placeH4725, and upon the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, even all the wordsH1697 of the bookH5612 which the kingH4428 of JudahH3063 hath readH7121:17Because they have forsakenH5800 me, and have burned incenseH6999 unto otherH312 godsH430, that they might provoke me to angerH3707 with all the worksH4639 of their handsH3027; therefore my wrathH2534 shall be kindledH3341 against this placeH4725, and shall not be quenchedH3518.18But to the kingH4428 of JudahH3063 which sentH7971 you to enquireH1875 of the LORDH3068, thus shall ye sayH559 to him, Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478, As touching the wordsH1697 which thou hast heardH8085;19Because thine heartH3824 was tenderH7401, and thou hast humbledH3665 thyself beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, when thou heardestH8085 what I spakeH1696 against this placeH4725, and against the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, that they should become a desolationH8047 and a curseH7045, and hast rentH7167 thy clothesH899, and weptH1058 beforeH6440 me; I also have heardH8085 thee, saithH5002 the LORDH3068.20Behold therefore, I will gatherH622 thee unto thy fathersH1, and thou shalt be gatheredH622 into thy graveH6913 in peaceH7965; and thine eyesH5869 shall not seeH7200 all the evilH7451 which I will bringH935 upon this placeH4725. And they broughtH7725 the kingH4428 wordH1697 againH7725.
