And in the seventhH7637 yearH8141 JehoiadaH3077 strengthenedH2388 himself, and tookH3947 the captainsH8269 of hundredsH3967, AzariahH5838 the sonH1121 of JerohamH3395, and IshmaelH3458 the sonH1121 of JehohananH3076, and AzariahH5838 the sonH1121 of ObedH5744, and MaaseiahH4641 the sonH1121 of AdaiahH5718, and ElishaphatH478 the sonH1121 of ZichriH2147, into covenantH1285 with him.2And they went aboutH5437 in JudahH3063, and gatheredH6908 the LevitesH3881 out of all the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and the chiefH7218 of the fathersH1 of IsraelH3478, and they cameH935 to JerusalemH3389.3And all the congregationH6951 madeH3772 a covenantH1285 with the kingH4428 in the houseH1004 of GodH430. And he saidH559 unto them, Behold, the king'sH4428 sonH1121 shall reignH4427, as the LORDH3068 hath saidH1696 of the sonsH1121 of DavidH1732.4This is the thingH1697 that ye shall doH6213; A third partH7992 of you enteringH935 on the sabbathH7676, of the priestsH3548 and of the LevitesH3881, shall be portersH7778 of the doorsH5592;5And a third partH7992 shall be at the king'sH4428 houseH1004; and a third partH7992 at the gateH8179 of the foundationH3247: and all the peopleH5971 shall be in the courtsH2691 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068.6But let none comeH935 into the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, save the priestsH3548, and they that ministerH8334 of the LevitesH3881; they shall go inH935, for they are holyH6944: but all the peopleH5971 shall keepH8104 the watchH4931 of the LORDH3068.7And the LevitesH3881 shall compassH5362 the kingH4428 round aboutH5439, every manH376 with his weaponsH3627 in his handH3027; and whosoever else comethH935 into the houseH1004, he shall be put to deathH4191: but be ye with the kingH4428 when he cometh inH935, and when he goeth outH3318.8So the LevitesH3881 and all JudahH3063 didH6213 according to all things that JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548 had commandedH6680, and tookH3947 every manH376 his menH582 that were to come inH935 on the sabbathH7676, with them that were to goH3318 out on the sabbathH7676: for JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548 dismissedH6358 not the coursesH4256.9Moreover JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548 deliveredH5414 to the captainsH8269 of hundredsH3967 spearsH2595, and bucklersH4043, and shieldsH7982, that had been kingH4428 David'sH1732, which were in the houseH1004 of GodH430.10And he setH5975 all the peopleH5971, every manH376 having his weaponH7973 in his handH3027, from the rightH3233 sideH3802 of the templeH1004 to the leftH8042 sideH3802 of the templeH1004, along by the altarH4196 and the templeH1004, by the kingH4428 round aboutH5439.11Then they brought outH3318 the king'sH4428 sonH1121, and putH5414 upon him the crownH5145, and gave him the testimonyH5715, and made him kingH4427. And JehoiadaH3077 and his sonsH1121 anointedH4886 him, and saidH559, God saveH2421 the kingH4428.

12Now when AthaliahH6271 heardH8085 the noiseH6963 of the peopleH5971 runningH7323 and praisingH1984 the kingH4428, she cameH935 to the peopleH5971 into the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068:13And she lookedH7200, and, behold, the kingH4428 stoodH5975 at his pillarH5982 at the entering inH3996, and the princesH8269 and the trumpetsH2689 by the kingH4428: and all the peopleH5971 of the landH776 rejoicedH8056, and soundedH8628 with trumpetsH2689, also the singersH7891 with instrumentsH3627 of musickH7892, and such as taughtH3045 to sing praiseH1984. Then AthaliahH6271 rentH7167 her clothesH899, and saidH559, TreasonH7195, TreasonH7195.14Then JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548 brought outH3318 the captainsH8269 of hundredsH3967 that were set overH6485 the hostH2428, and saidH559 unto them, Have her forthH3318 of the rangesH1004 H7713: and whoso followethH935 H310 her, let him be slainH4191 with the swordH2719. For the priestH3548 saidH559, SlayH4191 her not in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068.15So they laidH7760 handsH3027 on her; and when she was comeH935 to the enteringH3996 of the horseH5483 gateH8179 by the king'sH4428 houseH1004, they slewH4191 her there.

16And JehoiadaH3077 madeH3772 a covenantH1285 between him, and between all the peopleH5971, and between the kingH4428, that they should be the LORD'SH3068 peopleH5971.17Then all the peopleH5971 wentH935 to the houseH1004 of BaalH1168, and brake it downH5422, and brakeH7665 his altarsH4196 and his imagesH6754 in piecesH7665, and slewH2026 MattanH4977 the priestH3548 of BaalH1168 beforeH6440 the altarsH4196.18Also JehoiadaH3077 appointedH7760 the officesH6486 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 by the handH3027 of the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881, whom DavidH1732 had distributedH2505 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, to offerH5927 the burnt offeringsH5930 of the LORDH3068, as it is writtenH3789 in the lawH8451 of MosesH4872, with rejoicingH8057 and with singingH7892, as it was ordained byH3027 DavidH1732.19And he setH5975 the portersH7778 at the gatesH8179 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, that none which was uncleanH2931 in any thingH1697 should enter inH935.20And he tookH3947 the captainsH8269 of hundredsH3967, and the noblesH117, and the governorsH4910 of the peopleH5971, and all the peopleH5971 of the landH776, and brought downH3381 the kingH4428 from the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068: and they cameH935 throughH8432 the highH5945 gateH8179 into the king'sH4428 houseH1004, and setH3427 the kingH4428 upon the throneH3678 of the kingdomH4467.21And all the peopleH5971 of the landH776 rejoicedH8055: and the cityH5892 was quietH8252, after that they had slainH4191 AthaliahH6271 with the swordH2719.
